Patrick D. Ball has been continually licensed to practice law in all Michigan courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals, Cincinnati, Ohio, since 1976. His practice involves trying lawsuits and helping individuals, families and small businesses meet their legal needs, both in and out of the court. He has tried more than 60 jury trials in State and Federal courts. He has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in civil, criminal, and probate litigation.

Mr. Ball graduated from the Detroit College of Law in 1976; he served as assistant township attorney and an assistant township prosecutor in Clinton Township, Michigan from 1976 to 1984. In this capacity he prosecuted and tried 25 Jury trials representing Clinton Township, Michigan. He gained in-depth experience in the field of Drunk Driving crimes, analyzing the legality of arrest and the admissibility of evidence against Drunk Drivers. He continues to represent individuals charged with Drunk Driving offenses.

Mr. Ball spent 14 years working as a defense attorney representing Insurance companies and corporations sued for automobile negligence, premise liability, slip and fall and products liability. During these years he learned how large corporations analyze liability cases. Presently he uses his knowledge of liability cases to represent individuals suffering the effects of serious injury. In addition, he protects individuals who have had their No Fault insurance benefits and wage loss protection cut off following a serious injury.

Mr. Ball represents individuals and families who have been cheated in the purchase real estate. Michigan courts have severe limitations on how a person can sue for fraud. Mr. Ball has in-depth knowledge of the Michigan Seller’s Disclosure Act and “AS IS” contracts. His clients have recovered by trial or settlement amounts in excess of $145,000 due to defects covered up before homes were sold.

Additional areas of trial experience include: auto accidents; premises liability; products liability; defective highway design; defective machines, ladders and equipment; real estate fraud; breach of contract; contract mistake and rescission; will contests and mental incompetence; contract fraud; contract mistake; Federal criminal mail fraud; Federal narcotics crimes; Negligent Homicide, Assault and Battery, Breaking and Entering, Resisting and Obstructing Law Enforcement Officers and Drunk Driving.

Mr. Ball has also worked extensively with the following expert witnesses: doctors, psychologists, architects, engineers, and economists. He has argued appeals and appeared before the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals.

He practices in Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. Ball was President of the Macomb County Young Lawyers in 1983 and served on the Board of Directors for the Macomb County Bar Association from 1983 – 1985. He has also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In addition, he was an adjunct instructor at Baker College, Auburn Hills, teaching business law, civil litigation, and tort law.
